Foundations
The base on which the rest of the game is built.
Treibball is a dog sport that is still new to many trainers and dog owners in Sweden. This free online presentation is for professional dog trainers who want to discover the sport and see how Treibball Training The Game turns more than ten years of practical Treibball teaching experience into a clear system for learning the sport, understanding how it is built — and eventually teaching it to others.
Treibball is a sport in its own right. It combines distance work, directional skills, movement, precision and teamwork in a game where dog and handler learn to communicate with each other across the field.
For a professional dog trainer, discovering Treibball has two sides.
But being able to play Treibball and being able to teach Treibball are two different things. And that is where the system becomes important.
You can collect Treibball exercises. You can watch videos, practise individual skills and learn what the dog is supposed to do. But when you start teaching the sport to different dog-handler teams, knowing the exercises is no longer enough. You need to understand why you are training something, what it depends on, when to move forward and what to change when it isn't working.
After more than ten years of teaching Treibball, I developed Treibball Training The Game to organise the knowledge needed to learn and teach the sport into one clear training system. Instead of treating Treibball as a collection of separate exercises, the system helps you understand how the individual pieces relate to each other and how they gradually build the complete game.
That gives you a framework for answering the questions that appear when you actually start teaching.
Understand the purpose of what you're training and where it belongs in the bigger picture.
Recognise what needs to be in place before moving on.
Find the part that needs attention instead of simply repeating the complete exercise.
Know when it's time to progress — and when it isn't.
Work from a clear system while adapting the training to the individual dog and handler in front of you.
This is the difference between knowing an exercise and understanding how to build the game.
Treibball Training The Game is the system I developed from more than ten years of teaching the sport. It gives structure to the training process by looking at Treibball through six connected areas:
The base on which the rest of the game is built.
The individual abilities that gradually develop into functional Treibball work.
How the handler’s signals, position and movement become part of the communication — the hand works like a pencil that draws the dog’s path.
Understanding not only where the dog needs to go, but how it gets there.
Using reinforcement deliberately as part of the training process.
Bringing individual pieces together until they become the game.
The value isn’t in learning six separate topics. It’s in understanding how they work together.
When you understand the connections, you can look beyond the exercise in front of you. You can start to see why something works, why it doesn’t, and where to look next.
The free presentation will give you a first look at this way of thinking. The Trainer Training is where you learn to apply the complete system with your own dog — and eventually use that understanding when teaching others.
Learning what to do is only the beginning. Treibball Training The Game gives you a framework for understanding the reasoning behind the training and how the different parts of the sport influence one another. That understanding is what allows you to analyse training rather than simply repeat exercises.
Learn
Before you teach Treibball, you should experience it yourself. Throughout the Trainer Training, you build the sport with your own dog and experience the learning process first-hand.
Your dog doesn’t need to be perfect. The purpose is to develop your understanding through real training.
You don’t need a perfect dog. You need to become a better trainer through the dog you have.
Teach
Then you learn to use that understanding with another dog-handler team. Observe what is happening. Identify what needs attention. Adapt the training. Explain it clearly to the handler and help the team progress.
Because teaching Treibball means teaching people as well as dogs.
Not just “do this” — but why, what to look for and what to try next.
Play
And through all of it, Treibball remains a game.
Precision and playfulness are not opposites. Good training should make the game clearer and more enjoyable for both dog and handler.
Because the whole thing is a game.
Because the whole thing is a game. Learn the sport. Understand the system. Then learn to teach it. This is Treibball Training The Game.
This free online presentation gives you a first look at the sport, Treibball Training The Game and the professional Trainer Training starting in January. It is designed to give you the big picture and help you decide whether this is something you would like to explore further.
See what the sport actually involves beyond the simple image of a dog pushing large balls into a goal.
Discover why I developed the system and how it helps bring structure and understanding to learning and teaching Treibball.
Discover why practical experience with your own dog is an essential part of becoming a credible Treibball trainer — and why the goal isn’t a perfect dog.
See the difference between knowing how to perform Treibball exercises and understanding them well enough to help another dog-handler team learn the sport.
See how the professional Trainer Training combines online learning, practical work with your own dog and an in-person module in Sweden.
One presentation won’t make you a Treibball trainer. That takes learning, practice and experience. What this presentation will give you is the big picture — and a chance to decide whether you want to take the next step.

I run a dog school where I work with dogs and their owners in everyday training, and I have been teaching Treibball for more than ten years.
Over those years, working with different dogs and handlers gradually led me to develop Treibball Training The Game — a structured way of understanding, building and teaching the sport.
I first discovered Treibball at a seminar in Budapest in April 2014. My first Treibball training partner was my dog, Juno.
I completed Treibball trainer education in Germany.
I teach Treibball and continue developing Treibball Training The Game and its Trainer Training programme. Dog-handler teams I have trained were the first Hungarian teams to compete internationally in Treibball and have achieved numerous podium finishes.
My work today is not only about teaching people to play Treibball, but about developing trainers who understand the sport well enough to teach it thoughtfully and effectively to others.
Starts 11 January 2027
The professional Treibball Trainer Training is a hybrid programme created for practising dog trainers. Across three online modules and one in-person practical module in Sweden, you learn the sport, work through Treibball Training The Game with your own dog and develop the understanding needed to eventually teach other dog-handler teams.
The goal is not simply to complete four modules or collect another certificate. The goal is competence: to know the sport through your own practical experience, understand the system behind the way we train it, and be able to use that understanding when helping someone else learn.
In Sweden
The full Trainer Training will be introduced during the free presentation.
The free presentation is designed for professional dog trainers, dog-school instructors and other canine professionals working with dog-handler teams in Sweden. You do not need previous Treibball experience. It may be for you if:
Treibball offers something new for trainers and dog schools in Sweden: a playful sport that you can first discover with your own dog and later introduce to the people you teach.
The presentation is not a beginner dog-training course and it is not designed as a general Treibball introduction for dog owners. It is for trainers who want to look at the sport from both sides: learning it and teaching it.
The presentation is for practising dog trainers, dog-school instructors and canine professionals working with dog-handler teams in Sweden.
